Java 2 SDK error 1327.Invalid Drive

Java 2 SDK error 1327.Invalid Drive

You might see N:\ or U:\ or many other variations. Here is one of two things you need to do:
Either you can go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
and change the setting there from your “mystery” drive (hint, it usually is what your sysadmin set the install directory defaults to such as %USERPROFILE%)
You can shortcut this issue by mapping a drive with that “mystery” letter to a folder with sufficient permissions until after the installation is completed. Then you can un-map the drive.

Please note I keep putting “mystery” because for some you have no idea how it got there. For sysadmins…we know what it’s there but, hang it all, when we run into this issue we STILL want to put our foot through the wall just like you!

Hope this helps several of you out there…this applies to any app. that is throwing this error btw…not just Java 2 SDK.
